Succulents should be only watered when their soil is almost dry. But when it's time, give them a good, low pressure soak, until the water runs out of the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot. Also make sure to drain any excess water caught in the cover pot or saucer.
Place them in a spot where they can enjoy a lot of daylight, but do protect them from direct sun during the summer months, as they can burn easily.
A succulent will look nice and compact with the right amount of light, but if it gets too little, it will start looking for more by "stretching" itself, which is a sign that it will need more light.
