The word "cactus" is derived from ancient Greek and was used to describe a spiny plant whose identity is not certain. They come in all kinds of shapes and sizes and "areoles", out of which spines or flowers emerge and help soak up water and protect them from the environment. Some cacti, like the Christmas or Thanksgiving Cactus, have no spines, but lovely flowers instead. So while not all cacti are necessarily prickly, they certainly are all beautiful.
A cactus can survive on little water, but it does need a lot of light. So give it a nice spot to live at, where it can soak up the sun.
Plants love attention and a cactus is no different. While it might look all content, sitting in the sun on your desk or windowsill, it will appreciate any affection you can give it. Be it a chat, a song, or a reading....your cactus will love it.
Your keyring is the home to a real cactus. The holes on top are air holes so it can breathe. On the bottom it has tiny openings to soak up water.
Your cactus is now ready to grow big and beautiful for many years to come.
